CODE OF ETHICS
CODE OF ETHICS
The foundation for Forbis Numis. (numis. is the abbreviation for numismatics) business policies and procedures is a combination of honor, integrity and honesty. This foundation is the cornerstone of our business Code of Ethics. It is our pledge to our customers and fellow dealers to follow this code of ethics:
- To furnish sound advice to non-professional customers on numismatic matters to the best of our ability.
- To promptly ship or deliver purchased coins.
- To promptly pay for coins that we have purchased unless otherwise agreed in writing between us and our customer.
- To refrain from misrepresenting the prices, quality and guarantees attached to our merchandise or that of our competitors.
- To refrain from knowingly dealing in stolen numismatic items.
- To refrain from knowingly dealing in counterfeit, altered, repaired or doctored (plugged, whizzed, polished, engraved, etc.) numismatic items without fully disclosing their status to our customers.
- To grade coins accurately to the best of our ability and in accordance with recognized industry standards.
- To refrain from the following in dealing with non-professional customers:
- (a) buying or selling at unreasonable prices;
- (b) using high pressure sales techniques;
- (c) using misleading performance data;
- (d)comparing coins graded by a fringe grading service with those graded by an industry-standard, independent grading service in a way calculated to create an inaccurate impression;
- (e) intentionally misrepresenting the origin, provenance or pedigree of a coin;
- (f) intentionally misrepresenting the weight of a coin;
- (g) intentionally misrepresenting the value of a coin;
- To respect our contracts with all parties to numismatic transactions, whether written or oral.
- To respect our fellow dealers' contracts with third parties and not knowingly interfere with same.
- To freely exchange non-proprietary information when requested to do so.
- To refrain from intentionally defaming the character of a fellow dealer or the quality of that dealers' products or services for commercial advantage.
This Code of Ethics shall be binding upon any individual or entity that is conducting business operations with, on behalf of or representing a member of the Forbis Numis. company team.
